The subjective painted areas in my photographs represent my intuitive response to the land around me. For me the landscapes represent journeys. Instead of focusing on majestic scenes full of grandeur, I enjoy quiet, more intimate landscapes. In the Folsom Lake Series, dark tangled areas give way to bright open spaces and mirror transitions in my life.
